The USC Sports Business Association aims to educate and connect students to opportunities in the world of sports business by putting on networking events, speaker series, panel discussions, career workshops, and more. We will inspire members to pursue their passion for sports business while also having fun, developing professionalism, building friendships, and giving back to the community.
Callie Bruce - Co-President
Callie is a junior from Champaign, Illinois studying Economics and minoring in Sports Media Studies. In her now four semesters at USC, she has interned with the Sports Information Department of USC Athletics and IPG360, a partnership and naming rights consulting firm in Westwood. She is currently a Marketing Services Intern for the brands team at Wasserman, She’s a big NBA fan, especially after working All-Star Weekend 2018 in Los Angeles. She hopes to attend law school and eventually become general counsel for a professional sports team or league.
Alex Yoshida - Co-President
Alex is a senior from Denver, Colorado. He is majoring in Political Science and minoring in Sports Media Industries and Performance Science. He has worked for Beverly Hills Sports Council, Independent Sports and Entertainment, USC Football's Recruiting department, and Wasserman's brands division. In addition to watching his beloved Denver sports teams, Alex is a #PitchersWhoRake enthusiast and knows every single line in the movie Miracle.
JOE LYON - Vice President of Marketing
Joe Lyon is the Vice President of Marketing for SBA and is a senior at USC. Joe is from Tacoma, WA and is studying Business Administration, with a minor in Applied Analytics. Joe has gained experience in the sports industry through internships with Fox Sports, Premier Partnerships, the PGA Tour and MSG Promotions. He is also involved in multiple other USC organizations, including Sigma Nu Fraternity and the Trojan Golf Association. Joe studied in Finland, at Aalto University in the spring of his junior year. In his free time, Joe likes to play golf and basketball, along with spending time with his friends.
MADDIE SOBLE - Director of Finance
Madison is a junior from Pleasanton, California, double-majoring in Business Administration and Accounting. She has interned for Fox Sports as an Operations and Marketing intern. Next summer, she is planning on interning for PwC in their Boston office. Madison is the Athletic Chair of her sorority and a member of the Women's Club Soccer team. She is a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Golden State Warriors.
NOAH SCHWARTZ - Director of External Relations
Noah is a senior from Westlake Village, California studying Business Administration and minoring in Performance Science. He has been fortunate enough to intern with the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), analyze stats for Nolan Arenado, and work for USC Athletics. He is also the Vice President of his fraternity, AEPi, and founder of the LAFC Wings of Troy, the USC based supporter group of LAFC. If you're looking for him, you can probably find him incessantly watching the Dodgers, Lakers, or Manchester City or playing basketball in the Lyon Center.
JAVI TORRES DE NAVARRA - Director of Internal Relations
Javi is a junior from Miami, Florida studying Business Administration and double minoring in Sports Media Industries and Applied Analytics. He has worked for the Orange Bowl Committee, Wasserman and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises in the past and is currently interning at NBC Entertainment. He is a huge Miami sports fan who dearly misses Lebron James. You will most likely find Javi playing basketball, as he is a proud member of the Men’s Club Basketball Team.
DARIO OFFSTEIN - Vice President of Sports Analytics Division
Dario is a junior from Arcadia, California majoring in Applied and Computational Mathematics and pursuing a career in sports analytics. He is spearheading SBA’s latest initiative, the Sports Analytics Division. He works as a Video Operations Intern for USC football and as an Alternative Break Coordinator for the USC Volunteer Center, where he leads a spring break service trip to rural Guatemala. He also writes a biweekly column for the Daily Trojan. On days he's not watching the Saints or Dodgers, you might find him at your local hiking spot leading a trip for USC's Peaks and Professors.
