SBA EXECUTIVE BOARD


 

Jack Doss

PRESIDENT

Jack is a senior at USC majoring in Business Administration with a minor in sports media industries. He was the previous director of Career Development. Jack looks to work in the intersection of sports and finance. This past summer Jack interned at Evolution Media Capital a boutique investment firm and subsidiary of Creative Artist Agency. During his internship, Jack worked on many projects including M&A advisory for sports franchise sales and entertainment companies as well as Media Rights Negotiations. This coming year Jack looks to continue pursuing banking and sports finance and will intern during the school year. Jack is from Greenwich, CT, and is a diehard Knicks Fan.

Blair Solender

VICE PRESIDENT

Blair is a junior from New York City studying Business Administration with a minor in Sports Media Industries as well as a minor in French. Along with being an employee of the USC football team, Blair worked with the Rams marketing department this summer. She is a big Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan and outside of sports, loves to cook, hang out with her friends, and adventure.

 
 

Joey Vargas Brownlee

DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMING

Joey is a rising junior from Newport Beach, CA and is double majoring in Business Administration and Cognitive Science. Joey spent time working with USC Football Recruiting, the Rose Bowl Game, and helps to run the sports media Non-Profit, Exposition SC, as the CFO. He spent the summer in NYC with Deloitte for a Risk & Financial Advisory internship, specializing in the Financial Services and TMT Sports industry groups. He loves watching Arsenal, the Dodgers, and the Lakers tear up the competition from Severance Street.

Chloe Morris

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

Chloe is a junior from Danville, California studying Economics with a minor in Entertainment Industry as well as a minor in Business Administration. She is also on the executive board of Trojan Venture Partners, and spent the summer as a finance intern at Maple Rock Capital Partners. She is a big San Francisco Giants Fan and Aside from sports, she loves attending concerts, cooking, and spending time with friends & family.

Lucas Smith

DIRECTOR OF CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Lucas is a junior from Charlottesville, VA studying Business Administration. Lucas spent this past summer working for a startup based in Venice, Wonder Sciences, as a Business Development Intern. He is a massive NBA junky, closely following the Lakers, and outside of sports he's a big movie and comedy buff.

 
 

Owen Power

DIRECTOR OF MEMBER EXPERIENCE

Owen is a Junior from Minneapolis, Minnesota studying Economics with a minor in Business. He spent last summer working as an accounting intern for the holding company, Venice Brands, in Venice Beach, and a marketing intern for 3 Bear Oats in Minneapolis. Owen is a big Minnesota sports fan, especially the Vikings and Minnesota United. In his free time, he enjoys wakesurfing, soccer, skiing, chess, and he’s been working on his pickleball game recently.

Justin Joseph

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Justin is a SENIOR from Brooklyn, New York majoring in Accounting with a minor in Applied Analytics. He is a massive fan of the Brooklyn Nets and New Orleans Saints and loves to follow as many sports as possible. This past summer Justin spent time with J.P. Morgan Chase, gaining experience in Internal Audit, and works as a referee for intramural football and basketball on campus. Beyond sports, he enjoys cooking, playing the flute, and learning about the world.

 
 

Sam Spitz

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

Sam is a junior from New Jersey studying Journalism with a minor in Entertainment Industry. He is also a member of the executive board of Exposition USC. He is a fan of all sports and a huge supporter of the New York Yankees, New York Knicks, New York Jets, and New York Rangers. Outside of sports, Sam is a huge television buff and enjoys trivia. Previously, Sam worked as a recruitment operations intern for USC football, that helped fuel his desire to work in the sports industry.

Tien Tran

CO-DIRECTOR OF SPORTS ANALYTICS

Tien is a sophomore from San Jose, California studying Business Administration and minoring in Innovation: The Digital Entrepreneur. He spent this past summer as a marketing intern at a tech startup in the Bay Area and a strategic research intern for a sports-based youth nonprofit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He loves watching the NBA (Atlanta Hawks), traveling, playing video games, and watching movies.

Max Alsoufiev

CO-DIRECTOR OF SPORTS ANALYTICS

Max is a sophomore from Los Angeles studying Business Administration with a minor in Data Science as well as a minor in Statistics. He is a big Los Angeles Dodgers fan and enjoys golfing, going on road trips, and hanging out with friends.

 
 

BOARD OF ADVISORS


Jeff Fellenzer

Jeff Fellenzer has more than three decades of experience in sports management, news media, higher education, and as an entrepreneur. His “Sports, Business, Media” class averages about 125 students each semester. “Sports and Media Technology,” which he designed to focus on the tech sector’s impact on sports, launched in 2014. Fellenzer has been a Heisman Trophy voter since 2007, one of only 43 in California and 925 nationally who have been invited to participate in the selection process for the most prestigious individual award in sports.

Courtney Brunious

Courtney M. Brunious is the Associate Director of the University of Southern California’s Sports Business Institute and instructor at the Marshall School of Business. Mr. Brunious is also a consultant on issues involving non-profit organizations, sports business, and real estate. He has continued to study the sports business industry for years and has provided insight into issues ranging from sports anchored real estate development to technology. He has also spoken on or moderated panels at the USC Body Computing Conference, NBPA Tech Summit, and USC Marshall Diversity conference. His media work has included appearances on the CBS evening news and KTLA as well as radio and print such as NPR, CNBC, ESPN, Variety, Fast Company, the Los Angeles Times, and the Los Angeles Business Journal. He is also admitted to the state bar of Illinois.

Miki Turner


Miki Turner is an award-winning journalist and author who has worked in nearly every discipline in the media industry. Turner, who has held positions at ESPN, the NFL Network, MSNBC, AOL, BET and several newspapers, teaches photojournalism, sports commentary, digital storytelling and a sports production class. Turner has moderated numerous panels from the home of the Canadian consulate to the Black Women Film Network conference. A respected pop culture critic, Turner has appeared on CNN to discuss diversity and other issues in the entertainment industry.
